Background and Objectives: Spatial planning, as one of the key tools for achieving sustainable development and managing value chains, plays a crucial role in balancing the distribution of population, activities, and resources at both national and regional levels. Methods: This study focuses on quantitative concentration indices—such as the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index and the Concentration Ratio—to analyze the spatial patterns of population distribution, GDP concentration, and industrial capacity across the country. Results: The findings reveal a significant mismatch between population distribution and the share of GDP across provinces, indicating suboptimal allocation of economic activities and resources across the territory. Conclusion: The spatial distribution of industrial capacities does not align with population dispersion, highlighting a disconnection within the national value chain and inefficiencies in leveraging regional potential. In this context, concentration indices serve as analytical tools that can support the revision of sustainable development policies, guide the prioritization of regional investments, and enhance the efficiency of value chains. The study suggests that stronger spatial and equity-oriented integration of spatial planning, sustainable development, and value chain management is essential.
